Shoulder Replacement

Additional Information

Dr Ford offers both the standard total shoulder replacement as well as the reverse total shoulder replacement. The standard replacement is applied when the patient has a functioning rotator cuff. If the rotator cuff function is compromised, the reverse total shoulder replacement changes the mechanics of the shoulder to allow the deltoid muscle the ability to raise the arm. This has been an amazing development in total joint surgery and has greatly improved many patients’ outcomes.
